Prof. Ruchi DasThe Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, University of Delhi has a long and proud tradition of excellence in training, teaching, and research in several academic disciplines centred around Mathematics. The Department offers a masters' program in Mathematics along with two research programs, the M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Mathematics. The masters' program is designed to build a strong foundation in core areas of higher mathematics. It also provides extremely strong technical knowledge to the students who aim to take up careers in academia or industry. The training which is imparted to the students helps them master the art of problem-solving, logical reasoning, and computational capabilities which are essential traits in every career field. Additionally, the knowledge of mathematical modeling and computational training, which the students acquire during the program, makes them highly skilled. Along with acquiring suitable skills and knowledge, our students become well-rounded individuals who would be an asset to any organization they are part of. The alumni of our department have shown distinction in their respective positions in the field of academics, governance, and industry. Over the past years, our students have been employed in the IT, insurance, finance, healthcare, and publishing sectors. It is also worth mentioning here that every year some of our students get admitted for higher studies in Mathematics or programs in reputed International / National Institutions and Universities by earning Fellowships or Teaching Assistantship. Our Placement Cell coordinates with various companies to provide the best possible opportunities to all students. Our team of dedicated students and teachers has worked tirelessly in these challenging times.
